Since the time of this post, PDQ.com has developed a remote connection solution called PDQ Link. PDQ Link enables remote users to link to your network and access internal resources anywhere they have connectivity, much like a traditional VPN, but without the typical troubles that come with most hardware and software VPN issues. PDQ Link uses already existing Microsoft Server Roles RAS (Remote Access Server) and NPS(Network Policy Service) to form a connection between your remote users and your office. It connects your users automatically on their logon. PDQ Link will help you stay connected to your remote workforce. Find out more about PDQ Link.
PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory versions 184.108.40.206 are now available for download. To enable alerts for newly released versions of PDQ products, click Options > Preferences > Alerts (or press Ctrl+Comma) and select both Auto Update Check Enabled and Release Channel. Once saved, click A new version is available in the status bar to download and install the latest released version.
If you’ve ever wanted more granular control over when your schedules run, we’ve now added time frames to both the Interval and Heartbeat Triggers. For the Heartbeat trigger, in particular, it will still detect when a computer goes from offline to online but only within the hours that you specify.
This addition is available for both PDQ Deploy schedules as well as PDQ Inventory Scan Profiles.
To set up one of the triggers, navigate to the All Schedules page in PDQ Deploy or Scan Profiles window (Options > Scan Profiles) in PDQ Inventory.
Add or edit a Heartbeat or Interval trigger.
Check the Only run during the following time frame option.
This enables the hours to be edited. The default run time is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM but is fully customizable.
“The time has come the walrus said…”
As much as we loved the Agent, PDQ Inventory no longer contains it. With this removal, we are now able to focus on stability and performance improvement and getting features out that are fully completed and tested. For more information, see our previous blog post on the subject.
If you haven’t already, please uninstall the Agent at your earliest convenience. Instructions are available by clicking here.
